Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

They're sooooooo close to getting this right. My #1 complaint for burger places and complaint #20 for Five Guys is this: you're a burger place...ASK me how I want my burger cooked!!! Not everyone likes Medium Well. You're a specialty burger place...should be able to handle that. Overall my burger was tasty, and I heard their bun was a bit sweet...and indeed it was. It was put together well, toppings placed nicely on top and presented well on a plate as ordered. I like that they offer draft beer, although a bit pricey (especially with beef o brady's next door). Ordered 2 Monger Burgers ($6.99/ea) and 2 beers (yuengling and brooklyn) $26. I think a burger and a beer should be capped at $10 each... Another recommendation for a place like this and others like it...offer some example burger topping "themes." With so many choices, a first-timer may be over-whelmed and under the pressure to order, so they just order a cheeseburger. But offer choices like "Mexican Burger - chilli, cheddar cheese, and jalepenos" or "The Five Cheese Burger - ...with 5 cheeses" or "Garbage Burger - everything...including fries" Just my 2 cents. Overall though, it is what it is. I knew exactly where I was going and what would be offered. Ordering was easy and delivery to my table was timely enough. Would recommend stopping in to check it out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of your way to try.

Burger Monger did not quite hit the spot for me. I just feel like as soon as I walked in the door, I smelled a bunch of grease. My husband and I ordered a burger each, and an order of fries. The cool thing was that you could pick from a list of different toppings for your burger. The fries were just okay to me. I just did not feel like the burger tasted anything special. I feel like I have had great burgers, and actually got to go to the burger showdown where they had a bunch of burgers from the Tampa area. I don't feel like this one could compare to those. In the area, my fave burger is a chain yes, at Red robin, but it just tastes so good, out of the ordinary, and I love the fries there.

I eat here almost every week, they practically all know me by now. The reason i eat here is all their food on their menu is from organic products and also they support local farms. Their potato and meat is delicious and fresh fresh. I love how you can put as much things on the burger as you want, their selection of toppings and condiments beats out any other burger joint around. If you get a burger make sure you pile on many things and always add the special monger sauce its amazing. I love that this place is only $7 for a burger and on mondays its $5!!!!! 5 dollars for a burger with organic and fresh ingredients, how the hell is sonic and burger king in business around here, it really blows my mind how ignorant people are to eat at fast food instead of a place like this. eat real meat and real burgers and real hand cut fries. Burger 21 is also good but i feel that burger monger out classes it by a little bit in ingredients and is also more affordable, and i love the customization.

Love this place! The burgers are delicious and the toppings are phenomenal. If you like Five Guys you have to try Burger Monger. The options for cheese and toppings definitely keep me go there over Five Guys. Oh and the fries, just as good.

This is one for the BEST Burgers I've had at a stand alone burger joint! Better than Five Guys...Better than Burger 21!! Super Juicy! Super Flavorful! It's an al a carte Burger. Great hand cut fries as well.

This restaurant is fast food but not fast. You have wait for them to cook to the order. The burger is 100 percent pure Japanese Akaushi Kobe beef, 2-3 grades higher than USDA Prime. It is heathy burger that you are getting in this joint. Monday is a special for any patron that show up in the store and get a 6 oz burger for $5. Normal price is $7. A 29% discount. The burger here has many assembly choices. They are dividing into three categories. First is cheese- the choices are American, aged Swiss, cheddar jack, pepper jack, provolone. You also can add premium cheese such as Mozzarella with additional $1.49. The second selection is the sauce - the selections are monger sauce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, honey mustard, grey poupon, ranch jalapeño ranch, A-1 steak sauce, BBQ, attic goodness sauce, chai chipotle chup. I like my burger plain. The third category is the topping - the choice are lettuce, tomato, balsamic tomato, sweet onion, grill onion, grilled mushroom, jalapeño, dill pickle, onion slaw, banana pepper, tomato relish, roasted red pepper. You also can add bacon for $1.49 more. I like my burger with lettuce, tomato, grilled mushroom, and balsamic tomato. The balsamic sauce drip into the burger created the sweetness and combines with the burger meat burn make this taste heavenly good. I will come for more.

$10 for a burnt Cheeseburger NOT, never again! The new place is dirty, waitresses just dumped everything off the table on to the floor. Fruit flies coming out of the trash that has not been emptied recently. Wait the best is to come, severe stomach issues half an hour later. I saw another review while I was waiting for my food, they were going to call the health department. I should have asked for a refund and left. Dummy me!!!

My food was soooo good it has to be a crime! The young lady taking our order was superb and helpful because it was my first time eating here. Her recommendations were on point and the burger...AMAZING! I suggest you eat if you get the chance you will not regret it.

  • Sally R.

once again delicious food and superb service There were a few mistake with my order but Brandon and the rest of staff responded with excellent customer service. They did our order again and gave us a couple of coupons for next visit The second time, the food came out great The hot dogs are my favorite and the amount of toppings that you can choose from is extensive and scrumptious They also have beer and wine at reasonable prices. A must try!!

  • Pranam P.

Ugh. So. Good. They have a great deal on Monday's for $5 burgers. This place could ... could, give red robin a run for it's money. I had a regular burger with a crap ton of toppings from the veggie section, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.. However the monger sauce was the oddball in my list of toppings/sauces, it was fantastic! Though it could be much at times, it did add a lot of flavor to the burger. Give it a try :P.

If I want anything to do with a hamburger, Burger Monger is my top choice. Better than Burger 21, Square1 Burger, and a step above Five Guys. I usually describe this place as a gourmet Five Guys as they have much better topping options (although some require an additional charge). They also offer salads and shakes/malts and beer/wine. Sauces are awesome. My favorite is the Chai Chipotle Chup...just the right amount of sweetness and kick.

The branch in Wesley Chapel is the only Burger Monger I have visited, so this review might apply to the Burger Monger franchise, not just the branch. I visited the restaurant already full, so I was happily surprised when I found the food delicious and found myself craving more. To try a sample of what the restaurant had to offer, I ordered a strawberry and oreo milkshake and a Mini-Monger with grilled onion, grilled mushroom, and jalapeño. Made from Häagen-Dazs icecream, the milkshake was fresh and creamy. The milkshake was expensive ($4.99) but was delicious and sizable. The Mini-Monger was dry and bland. Guessing that the dryness was because of the size of the burger and because of the lack of premium toppings, I tried my friend's Double Monger, which had cheese, bacon, grilled onion, and grilled mushroom. The Double Monger was juicy, rich, and delicious! However, my friend paid more than $17 for that Double Monger ($9.99 plus $0.59 for cheese and $1.49 for bacon) and a milkshake. I will visit Burger Monger again when I'm craving a good burger and milkshake to the point where I am willing to spend around $20.

Delicious, delicious, delicious burgers!!!! The meat is so tender and juicy! You can get fresh mozzarella and they toast the bun!! All the sides are fresh and local. Fries are fresh! And they make the best hand-spun shakes - OREO is the BEST!! Go there!

  • Eric G.

This was the first burger I've eaten and not felt like a disgusting pig, I actually felt refreshed. It was just the right amount of food, and it tasted good. The staff was patient and helpful. I'll be back.

This is definitely my new go to spot for awesome burgers!! Not only was my burger fresh with an awesome buttery bun, but the chilli cheese fries were to die for. The service was excellent and it was nice and clean as well. Will definitely be going back when in the mood for a kick-ass burger!!

Went Friday with the kids before shopping... Reminded me of 5 guys but has a family owned feel. Also, there are some welcomed differences. There are a bunch of toppings (including not so typical toppings and cheeses) that you can add to your burger. I went traditional, but loved their garlicky pickles. Yum! There are gluten free buns and salads available as well... Kids meals come with veggies or a fruit cup and fries are ordered for the table. There are a few sizes to choose from, the server at the counter helped us pick the right one - just enough for me and the 3 bugs. All of my kids ate their entire burger which is unusual. Very good and portions seem to be just right!

We had lunch here around 1pm. It was busy but not packed. The restaurant itself isn't very big but we were able to get a booth without trouble. You order at the counter and they bring you your food when it's ready. We ordered two veggie mongers and shared an order of fries. Love that you can pick your own toppings and sauce. I got mine with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, ketchup and mustard. My bf got his with lettuce, tomato, sweet onions, jalapeños, guacamole and chai chipotle chup. Our food was ready in about ten minutes. The person that brought out our food asked if they told us the fries weren't vegetarian. He said they were made with beef fat. Ugh, no, they didn't. Both veggie burgers were great and I liked that the patties were clearly homemade. The chipotle sauce was really good! We would definitely go back but skip the fries next time. Took off two stars because I think the people that take orders should let anyone ordering veg burgers know that the fries aren't veg. Or it should be stated on menu.

  • Ben R.

When the food gets there and the table goes silent until its gone....its good! Make your own burger, and then they make it to perfection. Burgers and beer...cant go wrong.

  • Kevin S.

I've been here a few times. Definitely love the food. The monger sauce is amazing when you put it on the burger. The one thing I didn't like was the price. I understand it's Kobe beef, but I shouldn't have to pay $15 for a burger with toppings. Other than that, it was really good!

  • Zu K.

First time in. A little pricey but that burger is worth it. Juicy full of flavor. Highly recommended

  • Jessica R.

I just dealt with the most rude woman. With as many burger joints as there are in the area attitude from someone who appeared to be a manager is just uncalled for. She was extremely rude to me in front of a line of guests. I simply asked if I could use another form of payment and she went on and on in circles talking to me like I was an idiot. I work in customer service and had all I could do to even finish my lunch. I will not be back here. With service like that I don't care what the food tastes like. I got a chicken sandwich and for $10 it was nothing to write home about.

  • Sunny G.

So, starting with the decor and ambiance, this place is no different than most, modern burger places. It was pretty clean, had lots of tvs, and the furniture was solid. The burgers are entirely make your own, so you choose all your toppings. This gives you flexibility, but I would have liked to see what interesting burgers the place could have offered. The burger was pretty good. It was juicy as all hell and the bun was nicely toasted. However, the taste didn't really justify the price, which was definitely on the high side. But then we got to the milkshake, and holy crap. If you go to this place, you have to get the milkshakes. Easily the best malts I've ever had, and arguably the best milkshakes I've ever had.

  • Jay Y.

BurgerMonger has a great atmosphere that's very family friendly with a lot of different televisions in the place. The menu is very kid and adult friendly and their burgers offer so many different toppings to customize your burger. The staff is very friendly and helpful in delivering the food and cleaning up the tables. But I tend to think their burgers tend to be smaller than other places and their fries can get soggy pretty quickly. They are definitely a step up from most fast food places and their atmosphere beats out Five Guys and Red Robin.

  • Clifford L.

Burger Monger is a wonder place to get the best burger in the WC and spend quality time with family. If you enjoy music from the 80's this is the place to be.

5 dollar burger Monday's was great for our teacher salary! In town for the national educators association meeting! Enjoyed this burger immensely!

    (5)
  • Steve C.

Tasty burgers on par with five guys, maybe even better. More topping options here which is nice for the premium stuff. Fries are tasty too. Not as generous a small order as five guys but tastes better. I will definitely be visiting again. Pleasant staff and nice seating area.

  • Rick D.

Best healthy burger around. Fresh unique toppings and as many as you want! Can't wait to go back. Little pricey, but you get what you pay for here!

    (5)
  • Matt S.

A carbon copy of Five Guys restaurants except for the fact that you get less food and pay more. My 1 pattie burger was about the size of a whopper at Burger King and cost over $8 ! Their shakes were over $5 so I didn't order one. This is one chain that will not survive due to its lack of uniqueness.

  • Andy M.

Few burgers can compare to the quality of the burger that I ate here. Pure burger-y bliss. The only thing I hope for in my future is a Burger Monger location to open in my hometown.

  • Cathi L.

Had to try it because of all the great reviews.. Well here is an HONEST review.. The burgers here are ok, they are dry and frankly have no flavor.. The hand cut fries are good and they do give you a good amount.. The hand dipped shake I got had way too much milk in it and not enough ice cream.. I won't go out of my way to eat here again.. Five Guys is better and Red Robin is better then both of them.. Waste of time to eat here.

Me and the Wife are Burger nuts. I take pride in my burgers and they kill everything out there. That being said, this place makes excellent burgers. It all falls on the beef, and they use really good stuff, it shows. Easy going place with bench type seating, many sides and toppings to choose from. You basically build your own. Would have liked to see some premade combo's to jump off from, but after a minute or two checking out the menu board you'll get the hang of it. Fries are pretty spot on too. I'll be back for sure. Try this place out.

  • Eddie R.

Real good burgers! Especially when you add guacamole and fried egg to your burger. Fills you up and the fries are awesome...

    (5)
  • Joseph A.

Good burgers, juicy and tasty. But that's it, I didn't like the fries, in fact I got heartburn from the chili cheese fries. I do believe that they are overpriced too.

    (3)
  • Pierre A.

You can really taste the quality of their burgers. Top it off with your style of flavored fresh toppings for a great taste! I have found that the staff are also very friendly and helpful. The kitchen and dinning area are always seem clean and organized. 360 degree TV's with sports make it a great place to enjoy a burger, beer and sporting event. Really worth checking it out.

I have lived in Tampa for three days and have been to Burger Monger two times. They have Great food and friendly service. Burgers are big and juicy. There are Lots of TVs and Free wifi. I will be back again.

There are so many things wrong with this place. We were the first and only customers there so they should have been on top of things. They got our order wrong, food came out cold and fries were discussing. The cheese sauce we got with our fries was light yellow cold, and congealed. The silverware was held in open containers by the trash can which grossed me out. It's over priced too... red robin, five guys and even Wendy's is better than this place.

    (1)
  • Stephanie S.

My son lives for this place. He loves the fresh cut fries. I find the menu a little overwhelming but he does not.

    (4)
  • Jeff L.

I ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries. Sadly the burger was very well-done and had very little flavor at all. The place was empty, there were more of the owner/manager's family in the restaurant than customers. The fries were over cooked, either very crunchy or very greasy. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. I'll go to Burger 21 in the future for a much better burger.

    (1)
  • Mahdy S.

Got an 8 oz Burger with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, fresh cut fries and a bottle of water. I paid over $14. Burger wasn't anything exciting and didn't have too much flavor. Fries were alright, but a little on the salty side. Yes, we can tell them how we want things done, but it'd nice from a customer service standpoint if they'd ask upon taking orders. They'll walk around to check on you so that's a plus. Still, the food didn't do much for me. Did I finish it all? For $14, yes I did. I've been more satisfied with Wendy's burgers though.

    (2)
  • Jennifer L.

NOM NOM NOM Not only are their burgers/menu amazing, but their staff is always SO kind. I have eaten here through two pregnancies, and the staff remembers my children and always makes remarks to how big they are getting. It's nice to eat at a truly kid friendly place. I could eat a meal of just the fries they are so good. And there is NO other burger in town like theirs!!

  • Chris H.

I usually love this restaurant and the burgers are great but we were recently in there 5/9/15 and got a dry burger definitely not the same beef. burnt the burgers. They were too large and it tasted terrible and at $25 for two burgers that Just doesn't cut it.

  • Stefanie E.

Excellent burgers, nice buttery bun. Lots of toppings to choose from. Fresh cut fries that are wonderful. They serve beer which is nice with a burger. They also serve salads and chicken sandwiches. Service was fast and friendly. They bring the food to your table. I appreciated the single occupancy restroom. They have week night specials. We liked it a lot and will come again. (They have a reward card as well). For a fast burger joint it was great. We like it better than 5 guys.

  • R. G.

Pretty good burger as I had the double burger. A little on the over cooked side but tasty none the less. Also ordered the chili cheese fries and they were fresh, hot, and the chili was meaty and had great flavor. I gotta say that the highlight of the meal was the chocolate malt milkshake. Not Only did I get a tall glass of this frozen excellence, but another serving in the metal mixing cup as well. Just a fantastically made to order malt. Definately a great Sunday lunch.

  • Duane T.

my daughter enjoyed her burger and the fries, my wife ordered something a little fancier and they made a mistake, so they redid it. i went no carb and had my burger as a lettuce wrap, and it was good as well. a little spendy, i'd go back if they had a promo or groupon maybe.

  • B. P.

Excellent Burgers! The buns are toasted nicely, all condiments and ingredients are really fresh, and the Burger itself is out of this world good! I've been a few times, and sometimes forget to order medium or medium-rare, but even meduim-well is good. The fries are good too, but maybe they can be a bit better. If I want a burger, this is the first place I think of... Keep up the good food! :)

  • Milo B.

Better than Five Guys. Pricey, but worth the self-treat. Quality add-ons. Fries are great. The Shake and a half is the best way to savor a great burger.

  • Cody B.

Really great ingredients make a delicious burger. Staff is always great.

  • Dichosa M.

Everyone seems to like the place. When we went it was busy! Ordered the standard-burger and fries. It was good, not great or wow. Won't go out of our way to eat there, especially after getting sick that night. Has the meat bothered anyone else?

    (3)
  • Bonita M.

Over-priced, average tasting food. However, the "kicker" was the owner who went around thanking and greeting customers, but who hopscotched over my table. As a black female eating alone who had gone there to relax and had arrived long before the other guests, I found his selective greeting of customers offensive, rude, in poor taste and basically discriminatory. After awhile he did ask if I was watching a hockey game that was on the screen. I was not and asked if he could turn the station to CNN. I don't think he liked that. When I politely asked him over to my table and mentioned my experience and recited what I had witnessed, he became immediately defensive, mumbled some sort of half-apology and walked away. Of course, I left. Rude-Selective-Discriminatory...NEVER AGAIN!!

just moved here and was walking around the area (shows me as being a newbie!). anyhow parked outside bealls and walked around seeing what is in the plaza as I'll be living very near here. went past a few places on the way to the bonefish grill just to check it out for future visits and on the way back decided to get my dinner at burger monger. They need to have a menu outside so people can look for themselves I was forced to go in to look (good ac though!!) and as it was fairly empty had to llok at the screens above the service counter to see what they did. I ordered a burger (normal - they do have larger sizes) a plate of fries (1/2 pound) and a drink. loads of choices of extras. got a burger with grilled mushrooms, swiss and garlic sauce. the only onions they do are sweet - otherwise I would have added raw onions as I love them. you then get the cup and an order number. I filled the cup from the fountain and sat and waited. The fries were quick to arrive. very good - they have sarcens vinegar and sea salt which I added. the only downside was that the fries arrived on an open plate instead of a basket or cup (like five guys). this makes them go cold quicker and seem like you have less - still tasty though. then the burger arrived. and yes it was very good. maybe one of the best I've had. the garlic sauce was to die for (I'm a garlic lover) and the mushrroms lookedand tasted fresh and not canned. well worth the visit.. it cost 12 for a basic meal but I think they have the pricing right for the meal. they also came around and checked to see if everything was ok and cleared the plate when I had finished. I like it. I'll be back. stick a menu outside (unless I missed it) and put the fires in a vessel that keeps the heat better and you have five stars. visit. its worth it.

I have been here a few times, and the original location once. The burgers are great (with just about any topping you could want)!!! The fries are just as good. Your food is brought to you.....you get your own soda. They also have beer and wine....a nice touch!! The place is a little more upscale than most burger joints...which is nice. It is very clean and service is great! I am a big fan of Five Guys....This place is a notch above!!!

For the longest time I raved about how great Five Guys was, but after checking out Burger Monger I don't think I'll ever go back to Five Guys. You can get your burger cooked the way you want it, and you have a much bigger selection on toppings. The price to add some of the toppings becomes a bit expensive on items such as bacon or a fried egg though. The fries are fantastic, and they also serve several dessert items. This is my new favorite place to stop for a quick burger. Highly recommend it to anyone who is a burger fanatic like myself. Make sure to go on Monday for a $5 burger!

OMG!!!! This is the real deal. We ate there on a Wednesday and I was making excuses to eat there on Thursday. The 6 oz burger is plenty with the hand cut fries and the signature "shake and a 1/2" No one serves this.......they are their own competition.

I just ate at the Wesley Chapel location for the first time. Unfortunately I won't be going back. One of the workers there proceeded to sweep the floor while myself, husband and 5 year old were eating. If that wasn't bad enough she actually shoved the broom under our table forcing me to lift my feet while she swept up dirt all around us... Then she started flinging floor cleaner all over the floor almost hitting us. Absolutely disgusting, rude and unsanitary. (Not to mention dangerous as we all had to walk on a wet floor to leave our booth) getting annoyed at myself for not saying something immediately, I ended up politely telling another worker that that's rude and unsanitary while the worker who I was upset with looked on giving me dirty looks. Just some advice to the owners.. No customer wants dirt flying in the air, or the smell of chemicals or slippery floors around them while they to have an enjoyable meal with their family. Save the cleaning for AFTER you've closed.

we usually hit them up on Monday to take advantage of their $5 burgers, we are very picky on burgers and really like these. nice they have a customer rewards plan as well

It looks like the burgers here are awesome but i always get the vegetarian bean burger here. I'm not a vegetarian but i had it once on a lark and i like it so much that i order it every time now. Great Fries, decent beer selection and good service. Parking is a bit tricky as shares a lot with bonefish

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN. They tried to sell me fries (cooked in beef fat) after I specifically told them I don't eat meat. I was walking out the door when a staff member (who was also a vegetarian) stopped me and told me. When I asked the manager for a refund on the fires, he was rude and patronized me, and even shamed vegetarian life-styles. If I had walked out that door, and eaten those fries, I would have become horribly sick because I haven't eaten meat in over 2 years. I was on my lunch break too. So If I had eaten those fries I would have had to be sent home from work. All because the cashier, and manager, are jerks who seem to care more about $$$ than the customer well being. I will never return to this establishment again, and neither will any of my co-workers.

We ate here on our way back from Florida and we basically 'Yelp-ed' our way across the country to avoid unhealthy fast food. I'm a vegan but married to a carnivore and have two picky eaters. I had their vegan burger on a gluten-free bun with some sort of local pilsner (not the IPA) that really took the edge off from being in the car half the day. It's a little off the highway but worth the stop as it's fresh food prepared perfectly and who doesn't love an awesome burger? Atmosphere is family friendly and servers very professional and helpful in choosing our sides and beer. Wish there were more burger joints like these that cater to healthier eating crowd with hedonistic taste buds. Thanks again!

One of the best vegetarian burgers I have ever had. We go here at least once ever couple weeks. The bun is a kaiser roll that just melts in your mouth. The ordering is like Five Guys, but with twice the selection. The have 20 different sauces and dressings. Love the jalapeño ranch. The fries are hand cut. Love this place. Only issue is they have too many choices. Hard to pick.

I'm a believer!!! Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a burger fan but my Burger Monger with Guacamole and Balsamic Tomatoes was fantastic. I didn't have to add anything else to this burger. The combination of the flavors and all the ingredients of the guacamole made it very tasty and juicy. The whole build your own burger it's great if you can pick a winning combination. There are plenty of options to pick from and even though the guac it's a bit extra it's worth the $. Next stop veggie burger....

Without a doubt my favorite item on the menu -- The Chicken Monger on the multi-grain Ciabatta! Delicious! My husband loves the burgers (all of them) and my kids stick to the mini monger. Best Burger in Wesley Chapel!

This place rules.. The fries are amazing. The burgers are amazing. The people are nice. The atmosphere is great. TVs are always on but not too loud. Unique menu. One time they have free cookies to my kid.

I want to like this place. Really. This is my second trip to Burger Monger. We initially tried them out when they first opened. While we were not too impressed the first time out, I figured I'd give them another try. I ordered a soft drink, regular fries, and an 8oz burger with bacon and mushrooms. The total came out to just over $18. Kind of pricey for a burger and fries, but I wouldn't necessarily scoff at it for a particularly good burger. After several minutes, one of the staff members brought my order to the table. As she slid the burger basket across the table, she also dragged one of the strips of bacon that was hanging over the side of the burger. Sloppy... and kind of gross. The burger itself was kind of odd tasting, like it was burned or something. The charred flavor seemed to pervade every bite, despite the flavor of the bleu cheese. I can't say it was really juicy, either. The only dripping was some grease that was dripped all over the paper. Granted, I know that well marbled beef is going to have some grease, but this was over the top. Moreover, for an 8oz patty, the burger should have at least been somewhat substantial. It wasn't. Back to the toppings. The bacon was not crisp. It was pretty wimpy, actually, and strangely not very bacon-y. I also asked for mushrooms. Mistake. Big mistake. They were cold, at best. The fries were the only saving grace. They were crispy and well-cooked. That being said, they weren't enough to convince me to return. Next time I want a serious burger, I'll be eating at Ella's or Bonefish.

I am not a burger aficionado but the burger was pretty good. They offered so many different types of toppings. The brioche bun was a nice touch. I didn't like the fries because it was greasy! I am all for blanching the fries and all but the oil has to be hot to avoid the greasy heap of saltiness. I would come back for the burger but not the fries. The service here is little fast food in Asia. You order, get a number, sit down, and someone will bring your food. The person who took my order was very nice to answer our questions. They smiled often which made my experience there more pleasant. They were quick with any request we made. The establishment is well kept and the bathrooms are clean.

Best burgers I've ever had! Made with high quality meat, you can tell these burgers are different. You get to pick from an extensive toppings list everything you want on your burger. It's always made to order, so you're getting a hot and fresh burger. They also offer non-beef options, which make a great lighter fare. Their shakes are also magnificent, but not a huge fan of the fries.

  • Eric G.

I really enjoyed everything here. Great job! The burger was perfect. Seared and cooked to medium well, but still very juicy and tender. The fries were excellent. It seems like everyone is doing fresh cut fries now but these were top notch. The service was superb. They took their time to explain things to us on our first visit, joked around with us and were very attentive throughout the whole experience. This is a very good Burger place. I'll test the hotdogs and other choices later and get back to you. If your in my nexk of the woods you have to try Burger Monger. I'm a connoisseur (I had to look up how to spell that one) of burgers and I really could taste the difference in the beef.

I have been a (mostly) loyal Monger for nearly 3 years. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant. The quality of their food products - and staff - is remarkable and super impressive. I shamefully admit that I have gone to other burger establishments, but after one bite I immediately hung my head with regret and wished I had gone to Burger Monger instead. The hamburger buns are toasted to perfection and the Akaushi beef is always phenomenal. With their wide range of sauces and topping choices, eating here is a no-brainer. Special kudos to Aurianna at the Wesley Chapel location. She is the above and beyond the epitome of what a customer/food agent should be. Every time I go, I'm lucky enough to walk in during one of her shifts, and she always takes care of me and my family/friends. I know she does that for everyone, but I always feel like she's rolling out the red carpet for me and mine. Aurianna, continue to be awesome. :)

Honestly? Wasn't all over it. We are from California where In&Out burger is king. Moreover, The Habit's burger is awesome. The burger at the Burger Monger was too thick and dry for me. Sorry..

Didn't think the burgers were anything special and they were definitely on the pricey side. It's one of those place that you go to once in your lifetime and you don't really ever need to go back.

After eating at Burger Monger, you will never want to eat at any of the big boys fast food hamburger restaurants. Who cares about price ? The beef is such high quality, juicy, & flavorful. The condiment selections are awesome, the restaurant extremely clean, & the staff friendly & courteous. After years of searching for a great burger, finally a food chain that has gotten it right. It is pricey, but who cares ? You deserve it. Thumps way up for Burger Monger.....

Juicy burgers, with a great Monday burger special. The staff is super friendly, and we enjoy eating here whenever we go. I especially love the garlic sauce you can add to the burger, yuuummy! Also love the variety of toppings.

  • Andrew T.

I will give these guys points for having good toppings and other options for the burgers, but all said and done, it didn't knock me off my feet. The beef was...fine, but not especially flavorful. To be fair, that describes basically every burger chain these days. But I was hoping maybe it would be a little better. But I was able to make my perfect burger with exactly the toppings I wanted, so that's a big plus. Also - I feel like everything was a little expensive. The price you pay for that customization is the ability to almost nickel and dime yourself in to a pretty expensive burger. So while I would certainly come back, I don't think I would tell you that this is the greatest place around. Probably a notch above your standard fast food chains, but it's also going to be double the price. Also, I would say this is better than 5 Guys, although I've never been too impressed with them. So take that for what it's worth.

    (3)
  • Joe F.

Mesmerizing menu of mouth watering toppings to custom build your fantasy burger. I could try to explain what I had on my burger, but that would be a a waste since each visit encourages you to get creative and listen to your taste buds. By far one of the best burger chains around. Fries come up a bit short in flavor and no where near the amount you would get at Five Guys for the same price.

    (4)
  • John D.

Agree that this a top of the line burger joint. The meat was high quality and they had a vast array of toppings. While I love 5 guys, this place seems to have a higher quality burger.

    (5)
  • Xiao C.

Yeah, this place is good. Much better than 5 guys, much less greasy than 5 guys. Will be coming here again and again.

I ordered an 8 oz burger, cooked medium, with a fried egg on top. Both the burger and egg were overcooked. The burger was dry and the yolk wasn't even remotely runny. The overcooked egg wouldn't have bothered me as much if it didn't cost $1.50. I would expect a "Kobe" style burger to be juicy and full of flavor but it was dry and disappointing. My wife ordered the veggie burger and it was dry, crumbly and flavorless. The fries were outstanding and were some of the best I've ever had but that's probably the last time I'll go back.

  • Jeff C.

Food is always good. Service is always good. I tried to eat there today and couldn't due to no parking. What is it with zoning in this area? You have like 7 restaurants in this shopping center all open for lunch not including Starbucks. Know better than to waste gas going there to only not be able to eat there. Will go somewhere were I can actually park...

  • Ryan S.

Being one of the three burger joints in a one mile radius I decided to check out this place. The staff was amazingly friendly, fries were top notch, chocolate malted milkshake was good, topping options were fresh and good quality with an impressive selection. Here's my one issue... The burgers were merely OK. As this is a burger place, that fact drags them down. The patties were reasonable in size but not ample or generous. Buns were well toasted but If they were challah I could not tell. They claim that the patties are Kobe beef which is good for knowing where your food comes from in terms of animal treatment, feeding, anti-biotics etc. but Kobe beef is famous for its rich, fatty quality and marbling which it loses entirely when rendered into a patty. Any local grassfed beef would do just as well at a lower price. Considering there is a Red Robin (which provides larger portions as well as very high quality burgers at comparable costs) and a Five Guys (whose portions are a match for Burger Monger at a more reasonable price) within the same few blocks, it just seems like an unnecessary compromise. Also, it's right next door to a Beef O'Bradys which is greasy as hell but huge and sometimes that's is all you want out of a burger.

  • Jim S.

We visited Burger Monger and found it a bit pricy, but really quite satisfactory. Unlike Five Guys, burgers will be prepared to one's taste; both my wife and I like ours medium rare or, for me, rare. The two burgers came out cooked just right and juicy. There are a plethora of toppings (I had banana peppers and cheddar cheese; Joan had sautéed onions, mushrooms, lettuce and tomato). The burgers were among the best in the area. We will definitely return.

  • Angela A.

Really great burger place and I don't usually love hamburgers. The burgers are really well cooks, the bun is grilled and the different combinations of toppings alone should keep you coming back. The burgers TASTE like a burger. For a burger place their hot dog was to die for. They also have delicious hand cut fries. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very casual. There are a lot of televisions, so catching a sporting event is no problem no matter where you sit. Great experience, one that we've gone back for more than once.

The best thing I can say about this restaurant is the burger truly is above average. The quality of beef is exceptional and comes through when you taste the burger. I ordered your standard beef burger with lettuce tomato and onion was very satisfied. They also serve fresh cut French Fries. I ordered regular but was not as satisfied because the fry was a little al dente on the inside and slightly over done on the outside. Being a French Fry snob... it made a difference to me. I still love the fact I was eating a real potatoe and would figure the actual frying will vary each time I order. Over all I give this restaurant a thumbs up. If you you in the mood for good burger give them a try.

My wonderful husband and I stopped by for lunch and were reminded just how much we like this place. The burgers are juicy and flavorful. They'll even cook them to order ( you just have a watch because they'll come out medium well even if you don't want them to bit they're very willing to remake the burger if they leave it on too long.). The buns they use are so soft and they grill the inside so it adds a bit of crispy goodness to each bite. We really fell off the wagon today and decided to split an order of the chili cheese fries. What can I say? OMG! Are the good! But the size of the order is way more than two people can polish off. My hubby had a chocolate malted shake with his meal ( I told you we fell off the wagon) and it was heavenly! You just can't go wrong here. Good food, a little pricy but worth it.

I never usually eat burgers, most my diet consists of vegetables and mostly raw at that .but on this particular day I was so hung over i could barely see. so needless to say I wanted hangover food. I wanted a burger. I always had a crappy feeling about this place cause I work and live in japan a lot and they are trying to tell me this is made from Kobe beef. now in japan a small Kobe steak is about 100 bucks and the cows come from Kobe and are fed amazing things and massaged theyre whole lives. they are treated like gold and they are super expensive. I heard a rumor they bought cows from Kobe and bred them, kinda not the same but i guess for them thats good enough. no one would ever make burger from that beef. Well whatever the hell they did,i do not care. I dont even get the weird monster logo but in all honesty it works. THIS WAS THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Its amazing, the fries were even just brilliant. I cant say enough great things about this place. I might only have a couple burgers a year but when I do,Im going here. and im talking from experience,Ive had in and out and five guys and now im sorry i ever have. Burger monger ruined me for all other burgers ever. true. The people who work their are all nice and helpful. Ill be back and cheering you guys on!

Burger Monger is quickly becoming our favorite burger joint in the area. The burgers are tasty with a wide variety of toppings. The fries are good, nice selection of draft beer. The service is top notch. But the thing that has us hooked on this place above all is the Malt and a Half!!! This is one huge serving loaded with malty goodness, definitely big enough to share.

I love the burgers and fresh cut fries. The best part is all the perks of the loyal monger card. I already got a $2 off coupon! The best part is how clean the restaurant and kitchen are.

If you want a Great Burger with Great Service to go with it, then this is your place. The burgers are the bomb, the fries just add to it, and the Service is amazing given the fact that it is a Hamburger Restaurant. Lisa is the Manager and she is always there, and she makes everyone feel like family.
